How does a central home heating and cooling system work?
You might be asking yourself the question, “How does a central heating or central cooling system work in a house?” At Daikin SA we understand that some of our readers may not have the answer, and we are eager to assist.
A central heating and cooling system, also known as an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system, is designed to provide a comfortable indoor environment by regulating the temperature and humidity of a building.
It works with a thermostat, which is a control device located inside your home. It allows you to set the desired temperature for your space. You can choose a temperature that you are comfortable with in winter, spring, summer, and autumn.
As soon as the temperature inside drops below, or rises above your desired temperature, the thermostat signals the central heating and cooling system, and it activates either the heating mode or the cooling mode depending on whether it needs to heat or cool the house. Let us explain a bit further.
How it all works
So, how does central heating work? When the temperature drops, the heating mode kicks in and your Daikin air-to-air heat pump takes the heat from the air outside and pumps it back into the house.
The Daikin air-to-air heat pumps offer several options. You can either connect a single indoor unit to a single outdoor unit or you can go for our multi-split system to connect up to five indoor units to one outdoor unit. This multi-split system allows you to efficiently cool or heat up to five different rooms to different temperatures.
These units can take heat from the air outside and bring it inside to warm things up or take heat from inside and take it outside to cool the house down. The reversing valve which can be found in a HVAC system makes it possible for the one system to both heat and cool your house. The valve just reverses the process depending on whether the system needs to heat or cool your home and it helps to make the system energy efficient.
A central heating and cooling system have many “moving parts” that are crucial to both heating and cooling your house. These include a fan that blows the air in the direction it should go, an evaporator coil that absorbs the heat from the air, and a compressor, which pressurises the gas and sends it to the condenser coil, which releases the heat that use to be in your home.
Keeping an optimal climate in your home
Keeping your home at the desired temperature all year round means you need a central air-cooling system and a system that can heat your home. You do get systems that can heat or cool your home without any problems, but why have 2 separate systems if one can do both jobs with excellence and energy efficiency?
Daikin's Split System Air Conditioning solutions is definitely the way to go, as it can radically change the environment in which you live and work. With the power to both cool and heat, you can keep your living environment at an optimal temperature, and with the multiple split systems, you can heat up to five rooms for every outdoor unit installed.
Daikin offers the most comfortable, energy-efficient, and reliable central heating and cooling solutions available on the market, and we are here to make sure that you stay comfortably warm this winter, and nice and cool in the warm summer months that follow.
