Human Resources Manager

Daikin South Africa (Pty) Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd Japan and the distributor of Daikin Air Conditioning products throughout Southern Africa is looking for a national Human Resources Manager based either in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for performing all human resources related functions including recruitment and selection; performance management; skills development; employee wellness; compensation management; payroll administration and industrial relations.

Drive and support the achievement of business objectives by ensuring that Daikin attracts, achieves, develops and retain employees who are engaged and motivated to achieve the overall business strategic objectives.

 

 

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of the human resources strategies to drive the business strategy.
  • Custodian of HR policies and procedure documentation management, ensuring compliance and ensure operational excellence of the human resource service delivery.
  • Work with management to improve the employee experience and enhance the employer brand and employee value proposition.
  • Implementation and managing the changes to the human resources legislation.
  • Evaluate structure, job design and manpower forecasting throughout the company to ensure that the organisation is aligned with its business objectives and challenges.
  • Effectively manage the human resource service delivery and payroll of the organisation, including data integrity on all HR digitals tools/platforms.
  • Ensure that compensation and benefit policies and practices support a growing organisation and pro-actively identify and close policy and process gaps.
  • Continuously developing and implementing a strategic recruitment plan; ensuring selection of highly qualified personnel.
  • Work with the management team to support and co-ordinate recruitment and selection.
  • Coordinate and manage skills development within the company.
  • Manage and drive all activities required to ensure improvement in employment equity statistics, reporting and achievement of plans.
  • Preparation and submission of various human resources related reports.
  • Manage and coordinate performance management system and career development process.
  • Upskill managers and employees on the performance management cycle.
  • Manage employee relations matters and processes.
  • Implement the talent strategy to drive employee engagement, talent management and implementation of the succession planning process.
  • Establishing and maintaining human resources records; recommending new approaches to effect continual improvements in efficiency and services performed.
  • Implementing and annually updating compensation tools and conducting compensation research.
  • Administering employee benefits, communicating changes and updating personal records.
  • Contribute in monitoring and supporting employee wellbeing and satisfaction.
  • Working with senior management to facilitate and implement HR best practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 5-10 years human resource management experience preferred.
  • Experience with organization design, talent management, workforce planning and HR operations will be beneficial.
  • Industrial Relations experience, familiar with disciplinary hearing process.
  • Understand and familiar with the relevant acts, such as the Basics conditions of employment, Labour Relations, Skills Development, general legislative requirements to deliver on the policies and processes and BBBEE.
  • In-depth understanding of HR concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture.
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience.
  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels.
  • Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy.
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus with a genuine desire to assist others.
  • Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity and strategically promote an inclusive/diverse workforce.
  • Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion.
  • Sound knowledge of local labour laws and government requirements.
