Polytechnic Resource Centre - Windhoek.
The new library building will be situated on the corner of Brahms and Haydn Streets in Windhoek West. It will stand next to the new engineering building and will have the space, equipment, sources and services necessary for its growing student population. It will be a library truly suited for a University of Applied Science and Technology.
After the Polytechnic of Namibia and University of Namibia delinked in 1995, the University moved away with most of its library collection, leaving the Polytechnic Library with only about 3000 library items.
In 1996 the Polytechnic Library started acquiring library sources and the collection has grown to more than 36 000 items. The growing number of library items, growing student population coupled with the fact that the space that the Library is currently occupying is totally unsuitable, has forced the Polytechnic to build a new library.
