UK distributor Space Air wins two major ACR News awards: "Distributor of the Year" and "Marketing Initiative of the year"
Space Air a frequent recipient of ACR News Awards
Founded in 1980, Daikin distributor Space Air is one of the most respected names in the UK air conditioning industry. It has achieved this status by providing a full range of services from design assistance, training and delivery to a complete range of complementary accessories. Space Air’s main office is in Guildford and it has regional offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.
Unlike many such events, The ACR News Awards takes place only every two years and is the only national competition to include an award for Product Distributor of the Year. Space Air won this prestigious award in 1999 and 2001, and narrowly missed winning it again in 2003.
Distributor of the Year and Marketing Initiative of the Year
On 2 March 2005, for the third time in its 25-year history, Space Air was named the ACR News Awards Product Distributor of the Year at a gala dinner attended by over 300 industry professionals. Space Air’s long-term strategy of developing the UK market from a position of strength via technical knowledge, experience and sound financial management, supported by Daikin’s technical expertise and long-term vision is clearly paying dividends. The award was presented to Managing Director Neil Afram by television personality and comedian Tony Hawks.
The same evening, Business Development Manager Mike Nankivell received the Marketing Initiative of the Year award for a unique presentation made by Space Air at the 2004 Ideal Home Show. The ambitious project equipped a show home with heat pump air conditioning throughout, as well as a heat recovery system and air purifiers. This, in combination with a web-based residential air conditioning inquiry administrative system, a network of twenty regional specialists and a new showroom at its Guildford headquarters obviously impressed the jury.
To add to the glory, Space Air was short-listed for the Training Initiative Award for its extensive range of customer training courses including a Project Managers Course - believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK. Space Air was - Highly Commended in this category. It was an unforgettable evening for Space Air, which is already looking forward to defending its titles in 2007.
