Energy label underpinned by Eurovent

EUROVENT certification underpins energy label efficiency figures. The European energy label, already widely utilised on refrigerators, freezers and dish washers etc. is now being introduced into the air conditioning sector on domestic air conditioners displayed in stores and shops.
The energy label provides the purchaser with details of the unit’s energy in grades between class ‘G’ – the least efficient – and class ‘A’, the most efficient. Energy efficiency of course, brings significant benefits to the end user. Quite simply, reducing energy consumption can have a genuine impact on annual fuel bills.
The energy label is mandatory and the energy class indicated on the unit is based on a declaration of the manufacturer. In order therefore, to provide a supplementary guarantee to the consumer, a group of leading manufacturers participate voluntarily
to the certification programme of EUROVENT.
EUROVENT is a Europe wide organisation providing representation for HVAC manufacturers on international and European issues. It keeps members abreast of EU and other legislation, ensures their participation in international standardisation and improves awareness of issues concerning refrigerants, energy efficiency and indoor air quality etc. It also selects units at random and tests them in order to verify and certify manufacturers’ claims. On verification, manufacturers participating in this certification programme are entitled to display the EUROVENT certified performance logo.
Purchasers therefore, should always look for the EUROVENT logo as well as the energy label since it represents assurance that their unit has been rigorously tested and will deliver the performance claimed by the manufacturer.
More than 40 companies from all over Europe are now participating in the EUROVENT certification programme, offering consumers a wide choice of units, backed by assurance that the energy class claimed is indeed genuine and that the unit in question represents true value for money.
