Daikin South Africa joins Daikin Europe
Daikin Europe N.V. (22/03/2006)
Daikin Air Conditioning South Africa joins Daikin Europe NV as of 1 April 2006.
Move to regional management
Effective 1 April 2006, responsibility for Daikin Air Conditioning South Africa Pty Ltd. (DASA) will transfer from parent company Daikin Industries Ltd. Japan (DIL) to the regional management of Daikin Europe NV.
DASA has a long-standing relationship with Daikin Europe, having purchased its first chiller for process cooling in the winery sector in 1975.
Wide range of services to a vast territory
DASA’s sales distribution network has its headquarters in Cape Town and additional sales branches in Durban and Johannesburg. It currently employs 58 people.
The sales network is covered by an accredited dealer network that covers South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana and Mozambique and a service department in each of the branches. It also has distributors in Namibia and Angola.
Tailored support for a rapidly growing market
Since its incorporation as a wholly owned subsidiary of DIL in 1998, DASA sales have grown by more than 300%. Prior to this, the company was known as Centurator, established in 1950, which had been distributing Daikin products in South Africa since 1969. Joining Daikin Europe will allow products and services to be better tailored to the evolving conditions of the rapidly growing South African market.
