Daikin Emura Wins Japanese Good Design Award
On September 29th, the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization announced the Daikin Emura had won a Good Design Award 2010. The European Design residential-use split type is Daikin's first air conditioner created exclusively in Europe, where it has already won an iF Product Award and red dot honourable mention Award. The awards ceremony took place on November 10th in Tokyo, with the recipients of special prizes announced during the event. Daikin Emura was created by Daikin Europe N.V. and renowned German agency, Design 3. The model successfully unifies European concepts and values with Japanese technologies, adding a new flair not previously seen in Japanese models. Jury members praised this style with comments including, “We can feel the European culture and values embodied in this design,” and “This model has a beautiful simplicity lacking in ordinary multi-functional Japanese air conditioners.

There are 3 basic types of award, with special prizes also presented to recipients selected in these categories.
